Our history
From its foundation in 1954 to the modernization of production lines, a journey of pioneering spirit and continuous evolution.
Foundation in Moóca
KAP started its activities in September 1954, in a small warehouse on Rua João Caetano, in Moóca, manufacturing the first MR Series switches, also known as mirimrutor.
National pioneer in the production of industrial microswitches.
Expansion and MC Series
As demand exceeded expectations, the company moved to Rua Madre de Deus, expanded production and launched the MC Series, the first line called microrutor, a registered KAP trademark.
The name microrutor became synonymous with snap-action switch, microswitch and micro switch.
Modernization at Av. Nações Unidas
In 1973, KAP moved to the building on Av. Nações Unidas, began modernizing its production lines and started launching new component lines for industrial automation.
